Leslie Senevey
Leslie Senevey has been the co-director of Dance Concept for more than 30 years and has taught for the studio since 1983. She and Debbi Jo created the award-winning Dance Concept Competition Team from the ground up in 1991 and continue to lead the team as co-directors. Leslie has taught and choreographed for a variety of master classes, workshops and camps in Texas and Oklahoma including recent work for Fort Worth Country Day School, Trinity Valley School, and the Gladney Center’s Blossoms in the Dust Style Show. She has been rewarded with more than 30 choreography awards from regional and national dance competitions including Star Systems, Move, Legacy, Primetime, Hall of Fame, Starbound and others. But she is most proud of the long (and growing) list of former Dance Concept students who have gone on to become successful working dance professionals in the film, television, stage, touring, dance company, and studio worlds. Leslie teaches Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary, Improv, Preschool, and Combo 5-7 classes at Dance Concept.

Best life lesson you’ve learned from dance?
Too many to count, but I’d say the importance of authenticity. To be a true artist, you have to be honest, open, vulnerable, real and true to yourself. And I think the same applies if you want to be a happy human.
